The demands of school curricula put poor readers at risk. Participants will learn strategies to help identify students’ reading issues and work with reluctant readers to help them make meaning and become more motivated to read. These ideas can be used in all learning situations.
This workshop has been created by Jean Winter, M.Ed. In addition to her work as Head of Special Education, Jean served as the Literacy Facilitator for Thomas A. Stewart S. S. She brings to this workshop her experience working with staff and students to help support awareness of literacy needs and to improve student school success.
